Coin Project For my project I decided to drew a coin commemorating these who died in the terrorist act of September 11th and how the tragedy deeply saddened, yet unified our country.

On the obverse side of on coin:

The legend is of a firefighter because hundreds of firefighters responded to the 911 calls on September 11th and courageously risked their lives trying to save the lives of others. Dozens of them made the ultimate sacrifice and gave their lives to help those In need. His solemn face represents how the country reacted to this terrible tragedy. His dirty uniform represents the dedication and effort the firemen put forth.

On the reverse of my coin:

I drew the twin towers in commemoration to those who died In the building that day.
I drew the American flag, representing how this tragedy not only deeply affected those who's family or friends died on September 11th, but also deeply affected the nation as a whole.

I believe that my coin is special because it commemorates an Important event In history. This event will always be remembered. It brought the country together to help each other. I chose for It to be worth 5$ because I feel that coins need to be worth more. Also, higher valued coins are better than higher valued paper money because paper money Is too easy to counterfeit
