On the obverse side of the coin it shows a bald eagle and the American flag. For the flag the 13 stripes represent the original 13 colonies. The 50 stars represent the States and a new constellation, a new nation dedicated to the personal and religious liberty of mankind. Red stripes show the fearless courage of American men and boys and the self sacrifice and devotion of American mothers and daughters. White stripes stand for liberty and equality for all. And blue is the blue of heaven, loyalty, and faith. The bald eagle is the nations national bird and stands for freedom. The eagle carries the flag representing freedom for America.
One the reverse side of the coin it shows a small part of the new World War 11 memorial that opened a little while ago. This represents everyone who sacrificed their lives for their nation and to help others. It says on the top, "We Remember WWII," because we will never forget that time in history when we lost so many people. The feathers on both sides of the coin don't have a real meaning. The feathers are supposed to be bald eagle feathers and each one has a star on it representing a star of the flag. But there aren't fifty feathers on the coin, only nine. Note: the feathers have real meaning to the coin.
