Helical Gear
Step 1
Let's construct a helical gear.

- Open ProDesktop and open a New Design.
- Select Options and set units to inches.
- Sketch a circle 6 inches in diameter on the workplane.

- Extrude the circle to a depth of 2 inches.

- Shift W to place the solid on the workplane. Select Face on the solid, create a new sketch and call it front tooth, then right click project.

- Create a verticle construction line from the center of the solid extending through the edge of the circle. Toggle to make it a construction line.

- Create one half of the tooth from the construction line.

- Select Line,Mirror and create the profile of the tooth. Complete the bottom of the profile with a construction line.

- Set the constraints for the tooth. All are .5 inch and set the lower angle at 75 degrees.

- Zoom in for a better view.

- Keep up the good work.
.
- Delete the exterior profile leaving only the tooth profile.
- Now dynamically rotate the solid and place a new sketch on the back. Call it Rear tooth.
- Project the gear body circle into the sketch.
- Project the verticle construction line in the front tooth sketch and toggle it to a construction line.
- Draw a construction line at an angle to the verticle construction line a give the angular offset a dimension of 15 degrees.
