Step 1

 

Let's build a stamp dispenser.


  1. Open thinkdesign and open a New Model . Close the History tree.
  2. Right click in workspace and select Options.
  3. Click on the General tab and set the unit of measure to Inches and OK the dialog box.

  4. We'll start with the base.
  5. Click the Rectangle button in the Drafting toolbar
  6. Select Cen+Sizes, and type 4 for the X value and hit Tab twice.
  7. Type 4 for Y value and hit Tab.

  8. Drag the rectangle to the center of the workspace and hit Esc to exit the command.
  9. Set the color to 12.
  10. Right click a line segment and select Chain from this.
  11. Select Linear Solid and set the Depth to 1.

  12. Hit the to complete the sweep.

  13. Rotate to check the depth of the Linear sweep
    .

  14. We'll set the hole in the base to accept the dowel that holds the mailbox.
  15. Double click on the face to set the Workplane, then select View, on workplane.
  16. Open the Simple Hole command and select Extension as blind. Set the diameter to 0.375 and the Depth to 0.5. Select TypeFrom 2 Edges and center the hole.

  17. Hit to set the hole.

  18. That was easy. Let's touch up the edges and move on. Select the Chamfer command and set the Distance to 0.375. Select each of the top edges with the X.

  19. Hit to complete the command.

  20. Dynamically rotate your base and here's what it will look like.
